Obituary: Moira Gelling Knockaloe, 27, Daughter of Local Butcher

Moira Gelling Knockaloe, 27, beloved wife of James Francis Knockaloe, of the Ramsey Knockaloes, and daughter of Reginald Gelling, butcher at Colden Meats, died Tuesday of unknown causes. She was found by her husband in her cottage alone. She had no discernible injuries other than a mild burn on her thigh and leg. A recently fired revolver was found beneath the settee, on which there was gunpowder residue. The fire from which a poker protruded and into which an andiron had fallen, had gone out within the hour of discovery and a mug of mulled wine was spilt on the floor. The mulled ale was tested for poison, but found clean. It is reported that Richard Knockaloe will indeed be visiting Tholingchester for his daughter-in-law's funeral, which will be held at St. Egbert's Church on Cromwell Lane. Flowers are appreciated, but, as Mrs. Knockaloe was very much an enthusiast of the basking shark, donations to The Sea-Doggers, Ltd., for the purposes of promoting conservation of the great animals, are preferred.
